Wounded Bird Records was formed in 1998 as a label that specializes in the reissue of albums from the 60's, 70's and early 80's on compact disc. All of their releases are properly licensed from the owner of the original masters, in most cases the original record label and sometimes the artists themselves. They strive to reproduce the original album cover artwork, converted to accommodate the CD size format.

Larry Coryell is best known as one of the original jazz-fusion guitarists of the 1970s. He is still making excellent albums to this day. He has issued solo albums, along with collaborations with John McLaughlin and other fusion-jazz luminaries. He also headed up the highly praised fusion group The Eleventh House. This group featured drummer Alphonse Mouzon and keyboardist Mike Mandel. One of the most requested fusion albums for CD reissue has been Level One. This album is now making its worldwide CD debut!

Michal Urbaniak is a jazz-fusion violinist from the 1970s who style is similar to Jean-Luc Ponty. Issuing many fine albums over decades, many of them feature his wife Ursula Dudziak. Fusion III was originally issued in 1975 on Columbia Records. In addition to Dudziak, this album features John Abercrombie, Anthony Jackson, Steve Gadd & Larry Coryell.

Freddie Hubbard has been regarded as one of the greatest trumpet players of all time. He started making albums in 1960 and continued well into the 21st century. The rarest of all his albums is Gleam. This double live album was released on vinyl only in Japan in 1975. It has never been issued on CD anywhere in the world until now! The 2 CD set features George Gables, Henry Franklin and Carl Randall, Jr.

Lighthouse was a rock group from Toronto, Canada that issued a number of fine albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The group was headed up by drummer Skip Prokop. Their music was in the style of the horn bands of that era. Their most popular album was their self-titled very first album, Lighthouse, which was issued on RCA Records in 1969. Our CD reissue features two bonus tracks.

Bob Welch is well known as a solo artist and also as a member of Fleetwood Mac and his own group, Paris. He issued two fine solo albums on RCA Records that have never been out on CD. The self titled Bob Welch was originally issued in 1981. Featured on this album is Robbie Patton. Eye Contact was originally issued in 1983. It features 3 bonus tracks. Musicians on this album include Jeff Baxter, Carl Wilson & Al Jardine.

Chris Jagger may be best known as being Mick Jagger's younger brother. But he has cemented his own place in music history with a handful of fine albums. His first album, the self-titled Chris Jagger, was originally issued on Asylum Records in 1973. It features Bobby Keyes, Roger Earl, Ian Stewart and big brother Mick Jagger. Adventures Of Valentine Vox The Ventriloquist was originally issued in 1974, also on Asylum Records. It features Peter Frampton, Dave Edmunds & Mickey Waller. Both of these albums are making their worldwide CD debuts!

Steve Howe is best known as the guitarist for Yes, Asia & GTR. He also has released a few extraordinary solo albums over the years. Beginnings was originally issued on Atlantic Records in 1975. Blood Sweat & Tears are known as the premier pop-jazz horn band of the 1960s & 1970s. Featuring David Clayton-Thomas as their lead singer, this band has had loads of hit singles and albums. Peter Schilling is probably best known for his new wave hit "Major Tom" from the album Error In The System which got all the way up to # 61 on the Billboard charts in 1983. 54-40 was a college rock band from Canada that issued this one great album in 1986 on Warner Brothers Records. Features the track "I Go Blind," which was later covered by Hootie & The Blowfish. Many say 54-40's original version is much better. Fans have been clamoring for this hard to find album on CD and here it is, courtesy of Wounded Bird Records.

Absolute Elsewhere's 'In Search Of Ancient Gods' was a onetime progressive rock effort by keyboardist Paul Fishman with excellent contributions from drummer Bill Bruford. The previously issued import version of this CD was mastered from vinyl & had lots of noise marring this quiet album. This CD is mastered from the original master tapes & has never sounded better!

Jan Akkerman is one of the premier guitarists in rock, starting out with the group Focus, and issuing numerous critically acclaimed solo albums. The eponymous 'Jan Akkerman' originally hit the Billboard charts in 1978 & features Joachim Kuhn. Features the classic track "Pavane." 'Live' came out in 1978 and features a live performance of "Pavane."

Horacee Arnold is a jazz drummer who has played with Charles Mingus, Roland Kirk and Bud Powell, just to name a few. His biggest notoriety came with the two jazz-fusion albums he cut for Columbia Records in the early 1970s. These CD reissues were mastered by Horacee Arnold himself. Tribe was originally issued in 1973 and features Joe Farrell and Ralph Towner. Tales Of The Exonerated Flea came out in 1974 and features Jan Hammer, Rick Laird, Ralph Towner, John Abercrombie, Sonny Fortune & Art Webb. Our CD reissue also features a previously unreleased bonus track, Timios.

Jon Lord, who was one of the founding members of Deep Purple, collaborated with Tony Ashton on this album during a break from Deep Purple touring in '74. They then played the project live at the London Palladium later that year while the BBC captured another London performance. A rockin' mixture of boogie woogie, and rhythm & blues, complete with Hammond organ, the album also featured guest musicians Ron Wood, Cozy Powell, Peter Frampton, Mick Grabham & Doris Troy.

The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish rock group who took America by storm in the mid 1970s. Their brand of pop-rock spawned five charting albums on Arista Records. The track line-ups of their albums were a little different in Europe than in the U.S. Our two-fer of Bay City Rollers and Rock N' Roll Love Letter encompasses the original American lineup of songs. We have also used the original U.S. album cover artwork. This specific lineup of songs has never been issued in the U.S. before. Bay City Rollers was their first and highest charting album, hitting # 20 on the Billboard charts in 1976. Rock N' Roll Love Letter hit number 31 on the Billboard charts in 1976.

Adrian Belew is best known as one of the guitarists from King Crimson. He has also issued numerous critically acclaimed solo albums. Wounded Bird has taken one of those, 'Young Lions,' and combined it with a rare EP issued from the same era, 'Pretty Pink Rose', to create a sort of two-fer.

George Benson is one of the most well known and highly respected guitarists in all of jazz. One of the few jazz artists to have a number one album on the pop LP charts. Many of his fans long for his early works which were pure jazz. Benson Burner was originally issued as a two record set in 1976, to capitalize on his newly founded pop fame. But the album contains some of his best jazz playing from 1966 & 1967. This particular incarnation is being issued in CD for the first time. Guest musicians include Lonnie Smith, Blue Mitchell and King Curtis.

The Blues Brothers, the brainchild of John Belushi & Dan Aykroyd, first appeared on Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s. Their debut album reached number one on the Billboard charts. This album, Made In America, reached # 49 when originally released in 1980 and has been out of print for years.

Booker T. & The MG's was an instrumental R&B group from Memphis who had many charting albums on the Stax label in the late 1960s. The band featured Booker T. Jones on keyboards, Steve Cropper on guitar & Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass. In 1977 they issued one album on the Asylum label called "Universal Language." This album is now making its worldwide CD debut!

The Brides Of Funkenstein were Lynn Mabry, Dawn Silva, Sheila Horn & Jean McGruder from George Clinton's Parliament/Funkadelic camp. Their two charting albums were also produced by George Clinton. Both albums also feature William "Bootsy" Collins. Fans have been screaming for these to be issued on CD! Funk or Walk was originally issued on Atlantic Records in 1978 & reached # 70 on the Billboard charts. Never Buy Texas From a Cowboy was originally issued on Atlantic Records in 1980 & reached # 93 on the Billboard charts.

Paul Davis is a singer-songwriter best known for his hits "Cool Night," "I Go Crazy" and "65 Love Affair," all of which appears on this album. The original release of this album was on Epic Records in 1982 featuring only 10 tracks. We have added a whopping 12 bonus tracks to make this the most comprehensive Paul Davis collection ever issued. It features the original album cover art work from that 1982 release.

One could suggest that the names Klaus Doldinger & Passport could be synonymous, for they really are one and the same since he has been the driving force behind the group for almost four decades now. Lifelike, his album from 1980, featuring Herbie Mann, Etta James & Richard Tee is now available as a 2-CD set. His 1983 album, Constellation, is a showcase for Klaus Doldinger's talent and makes its debut here for the first time. The 2000 album, Passport Live, makes its debut here for the first time.

Eddie & The Tide were a rock group from the early 1980s who had two fine albums on Atlantic Records. Both of these albums are making their worldwide CD debuts. 'Go Out And Get It' was originally issued in 1985. It was produced by Eddie Money. 'Looking For Adventure' was originally issued in 1987.

David Essex will always be known for his big hit Rock On. Our CD release, The David Essex Album, is subtitled His Greatest Hits. The leader of the group Farrenheit was Charlie Farren, who was best known as the lead singer for the Joe Perry Project. This 1987 Warner Bros. album has received rave reviews and some have claimed it to be one of the best rock albums of the 1980s.

Maynard Ferguson is one of the premier jazz trumpet players of all time. His legacy leaves a wealth of highly regarded jazz albums recorded over three decades. Maynard is a compilation of his best work with Columbia Records. It was originally released on vinyl in 1981. Our CD reissue adds two rare bonus tracks, Rocky II Disco and Gabriel. This particular incarnation is being released on CD for the first time.

Mick Fleetwood is best known as the drummer for Fleetwood Mac. The most successful of his solo projects was The Visitor. Originally issued on RCA Records in 1981, it topped out at # 43 on the Billboard charts. Guest musicians on the album include George Harrison & Peter Greenbaum (aka Peter Green).

Toronto pop-rock group Fludd made this interesting and innovative album for Warner Brothers Records in 1972, one of only two issued before they disbanded six years later. You can hear influences by The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Who, along with their own unique sounds. Member Greg Godovitz later formed the Canadian metal band Goddo.

This popular dance-pop star from the UK had 3 top charting albums in the mid-1980s and a number of charting singles including "I Wanna Have Some Fun," "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" & "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)," all of which are including on these three releases from Wounded Bird, along with rare singles & extended mixes as bonus tracks. "Touch Me" was her first album, reaching # 24 on the Billboard charts in 1986. "Samantha Fox" was her eponymous album, reaching # 51 on the Billboard charts in 1987. "I Wanna Have Some Fun" was her third album, reaching # 37 on the Billboard charts in 1988

Hailing out of New York City's East Village, The Fugs, headed up by Ed Sanders, were part of the late sixties psychedelic scene. They have been described as "the poor man's Mothers Of Invention." After their initial stint with ESP Records, they recorded four highly touted albums for Reprise Records. These albums are not for the faint of heart. The Fugs have a long standing loyal legion of fans. Tenderness Junction was originally released in 1967. It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest made the Billboard LP charts in 1968. The Belle Of Avenue A was originally issued in 1969. Golden Filth was recorded live at the Fillmore East in June of 1968 and released on LP in 1969.

Gunhill Road was a rock group that issued one great album in 1972 on Kama Sutra Records. The album was produced by Kenny Rogers. This album is making its worldwide CD debut with four rare bonus tracks. The album was issued twice because at the time, the drug references made in the song Back When My Hair Was Short were frowned upon. So a new version was recorded and the album was issued again with different sequencing. We have added the original uncensored version as a bonus track, along with three other rare bonus tracks.

Harem Scarem was a hard rock-heavy metal band from Canada who issued numerous albums from the late 1980s through early 2000s on Warner Brothers Records. Most of their albums are only out as high priced-hard to find Japanese imports. We recently made the body of their catalog available at affordable prices, most of them with bonus tracks. We now give you three more rare CDs from this fine group. Mood Swings / If There Was A Time was originally issued in 1993, with the bonus EP being issued in 1994. The EP Collection consists of six extremely rare EPs released between 1997 & 1998 and features an hour & fifteen minutes worth of music. The EPs involved are Die Off Hard, Rain, New Religion, Turn Around, So Blind and What I Do. Rubber was originally issued in 1999. Our CD features the bonus track "Enemy."

Ronnie Hawkins is a rockabilly singer who may be more famous for his backup musicians than his own music. His backup group from the early 1960s, The Hawks, evolved into The Band. His two most sought after albums have never been issued on CD, until now. What makes these albums so special is the guitarist on both albums is Duane Allman. Ronnie Hawkins was originally issued on the Cotillion label in 1970. Along with Duane Allman, it also features King Biscuit Boy and Eddie Hinton. The Hawk was originally issued on the Cotillion label in 1971. Besides Duane Allman, it also features Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass and The Memphis Horns.

Idle Eyes was a new wave group from the mid 1980s lead by singer Tad Campbell. Idle Eyes was originally issued on the Mirage label in 1985. Love's Imperfection was originally issued on the Atco label in 1986. Both of these albums are making their worldwide CD debuts.

This well respected jazz oriented rock guitarist has been dazzling the guitar community for almost three decades now. One of his best known albums was 'Tones,' his Warner Brothers debut. Originally issued in 1986 and out of print for years, it has been remastered here on this Wounded Bird release and sounds better than ever.

Howard Jones was an English techno pop singer who issued a handful of charting albums on the Elektra label in the mid 1980s. In Europe they issued a compilation called The 12" Album which contained extended mixes, previously unreleased tracks plus odds & ends. Both the album and import CD releases have been extremely rare and hard to find at any price. We now make it available to everyone at an affordable price. Michael Kamen is probably best known for his film scores. But before doing those, he was a founding member of the New York Rock & Roll Ensemble. He also issued one solo album, "New York Rock," in 1973 on the Atco label, featuring a guest appearance by David Sanborn. It is now making its worldwide CD debut.

Ramsey Lewis has been one of the premier jazz keyboard players since the early 1960s and is still doing gigs to this day. We now present one more of his albums for the first time on CD. Solar Wind was originally released in 1974 on Columbia Records. It features Steve Cropper on guitar.

The Mahavishnu Orchestra, featuring guitarist John McLaughlin, has been at the forefront of fusion jazz since its inception. This "best of" compilation was originally issued on LP in 1980. Matrix was a unique fusion-jazz horn band. They issued two highly regarded albums in the late 1970s on Warner Brothers Records. These long sought after albums are now making their worldwide CD debuts. Wizard' was originally issued in 1978. 'Tale Of The Whale' was originally issued in 1979.

This indie/new wave band, best known for the classic "I Melt With You," had a few charting albums on the Sire label. One of those that has never been out on CD is "Stop Start" wich originally hit the Billboard charts in 1986.

Airto Moreira is a jazz percussionist out of Brazil. Married to jazz vocalist Flora Purim, he has played with such luminaries as Miles Davis, Chick Corea & Weather Report. He has issued a number of fine solo efforts over the years. Touching You…Touching Me was originally issued on Warner Brothers Records in 1979 and is making its worldwide CD debut. It features Alphonso Johnson, George Duke, Herb Alpert, Joe Farrell & the aforementioned Flora Purim.

At this point everyone knows who Willie Nelson is, one of the all time country music icons. You could probably say the same for Kris Kristofferson. In 1984 they made a movie together, "Songwriter." This album is technically the soundtrack from that movie. Even non-country fans like Lynn Hemingway love this album. Some tracks are performed by Willie, some by Kris and some are duets. One To One was a Canadian new wave duo who had a hit with the song "Angel In My Pocket." At The Capri Lounge was originally issued in 1976 as a result of her success on the TV show Mary Hartman, Mary Martman. She had a big hit single with 'Baby Boy.' Paired up on this two-fer CD is her delightful sophomore release Aimin' To Please. This CD reissue features two previously unreleased bonus tracks. Almost Grown is the third and unreleased album recorded in 1979. This first time CD features a previously unreleased bonus track.

Redbone was a rock group from Los Angeles who issued numerous popular albums in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s. The group was led by Native Americans Pat & Lolly Vegas. Already Here was originally issued in 1972 on Epic Records. Our CD reissue features 3 bonus tracks. Cycles was originally issued in 1978 on RCA Records. Both of these albums are making their worldwide CD debuts.

Renaissance, featuring Annie Haslam, has had a cult following from their first album in the late 60's through Annie's latest recording in the year 2000. All of their albums have been big catalog sellers throughout the years. This is the U.S. CD debut of the album. Ultra Feel, issued under the name Rubber, is actually the group Harem Scarem. It features the bonus track "Another Nail For My Heart." This CD has only been available as a high priced, hard to find import.

One of the most requested catalogs for CD reissue we have ever had is the Seals & Crofts catalog. This duo, consisting of Jim Seals & Dash Crofts, had numerous charting albums in the 1970's. We are now proud to present pretty much their entire catalog of albums, beginning with their first eponymous album from 1969. "Seals & Crofts" was originally issued in 1969 on TA Records. "Down Home" reached # 122 on the Billboard charts in 1970. "I'll Play For You" reached # 30 on the Billboard charts in 1975. "One On One" reached # 118 on the Billboard charts in 1977.

Sha Na Na was a rock & roll group specializing in 1950s rock and roll, even though their heyday was the late 1960s & early 1970s. They even appeared at Woodstock. Their biggest charting album was Golden Age Of Rock 'N' Roll, which topped out on the Billboard charts at #38 in 1973. Originally released on Kama Sutra Records as a two record set, strangely it has never been issued on CD until now.

Woody Shaw is well known as one of the most gifted trumpet players in jazz. He made numerous albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s. (9:39), Pressing The Issue (7:03), Katrina Ballerina (5:37), Blues For Wood (7:19).

The Sinceros were a new-wave pop group from the early 1980s. They issued two fine albums on Epic Records. This CD release of "Pet Rock" is very unique. In the U.K., they issued a similar album with different takes of the songs under the title 2nd Debut. This CD features both versions, plus 4 additional bonus tracks. This is the worldwide CD debut for all of this material.

St. Paradise is kind of an offshoot from Ted Nugent, since both Derek St. Holmes and Rob Grange were both part of Ted's backup band for years. The group never really caught on big, but they released one highly sought after album, the self titled St. Paradise. It was issued on Warner Brothers Records in 1979 and is now making its worldwide CD debut. Fans will rock out with this one!

Thirty Days Out was a progressive rock group out of New York who issued two excellent albums on Reprise Records in the early 1970s that have been festering in the vaults all these decades. Wounded Bird now proudly presents them for the first time on CD anywhere in the world! The 1971 debut "Thirty Days Out" was known not just for the music, but for its unique album cover design & packaging (the original LP version being contained in a poster instead of shrink-wrap). The album also features well-known session keyboardists Jim Dickinson and Larry Knechtel. "Miracle Lick" was the band's quirky follow-up album from 1972. The band split soon after its release. Bass player Monte Melnick later became tour manager for legendary punk band The Ramones.

Undisputed Truth was an R&B group from the 1970s. They had numerous Billboard charting albums on Motown's Gordy label, plus two albums on the Warner Brothers offshoot, Whitfield label. Both of these CDs are making their worldwide CD debuts and both have bonus tracks. Method To The Madness hit number 66 on the Billboard charts in 1977. It has 4 rare bonus tracks. Smokin' was originally issued in 1979 and contains two rare bonus tracks.

A reissue of the long out of print solo album from Victor, the brainchild of Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson.

Jr. Walker is well known as the leader of his group The All Stars, who had numerous hit albums & singles on the Soul label in the 1960s & early 1970s. His saxophone playing is legendary. He recorded one rare album for Whitfield Records in 1979. This album is now making its worldwide CD debut and features Wha Wha Watson.

The Youngbloods were a folk-rock group that issued many critically acclaimed albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s, first on RCA Records and then on their own Raccoon label. This Is The Youngbloods is a "best of" compilation that was originally issued as a two record set on RCA Records in 1972. It encompasses all of their best RCA material, including their big hit Get Together, plus Youngbloods classics Sunlight, Ride The Wind and Darkness, Darkness. This specific incarnation is making its worldwide CD debut.
