Wounded Bird Records was formed in 1998 as a label that specializes in the reissue of albums from the 60's, 70's and early 80's on compact disc. All of their releases are properly licensed from the owner of the original masters, in most cases the original record label and sometimes the artists themselves. They strive to reproduce the original album cover artwork, converted to accommodate the CD size format.

This well respected jazz oriented rock guitarist has been dazzling the guitar community for almost three decades now. One of his best known albums was 'Tones,' his Warner Brothers debut. Originally issued in 1986 and out of print for years, it has been remastered here on this Wounded Bird release and sounds better than ever.

The Blues Brothers, the brainchild of John Belushi & Dan Aykroyd, first appeared on Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s. Their debut album reached number one on the Billboard charts. This album, Made In America, reached # 49 when originally released in 1980 and has been out of print for years.

American be-bop jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell has made countless solo albums and has played with numerous jazz luminaries including Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Peterson. Originally issued in 1961 on Columbia Records, this rare album features Tommy Flanagan on piano. It is being issued on CD for the first time anywhere in the world.

Jazz guitar virtuoso Charlie Byrd had numerous albums on Columbia Records throughout the 1960s. 'The World Of Charlie Byrd' was a two-record set showcasing many of his best performances. Wounded Bird now proudly releases this album on CD for the first time, fitting all four sides of this fantastic album onto one CD.

Hot Tuna was an offshoot of Jefferson Airplane formed by charter members Jorma Kaukonen & Jack Casady. 'Double Dose' was originally issued as a two-record set on Grunt Records in 1978. This deluxe edition not only restores the album to its original full length & sequencing order, but adds 27 minutes of rare interviews with the members of the band.

Once referred to by Time magazine as the 'king of honkytonk,' country singer/songwriter Gary Stewart was well known for his southern style, rock influenced country and strong vibrato voice. This two-fer features 'Cactus And A Rose' which was his only album to make the pop album Billboard charts, reaching # 165 in 1980. Featured on this album are Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Bonnie Bramlett and Reggie Young. 'Collector's Series' is a kind of "best of" collection, culling together some of his best tracks.

The bluesy hard-rock UK supergroup released several albums over 20 years, starting with their breakthrough self-titled debut in 1974. Out of print for years, 'Dangerous Age' was originally issued in 1988, reaching # 58 on the Billboard charts and features Mick Ralphs & Simon Kirke. Also out of print for years, 'Holy Water' was originally issued in 1990, reaching #35 on the Billboard charts and features Mick Ralphs & Simon Kirke.

The Unspoken Word were a mixture of psychedelic and progressive rock from the early 1970s. They issued just one swingin' album on Atco Records. Groove to the 9 minute epic "Personal Manager" and see what you think! This album is making its worldwide CD debut and Unspoken Word fans are going to flip their wigs! Can anyone say Deep Purple?

Jesse Colin Young was one of the founding members of The Youngbloods, and had even bigger success as a solo artist, having numerous charting albums throughout the 1970s on Warner Brothers Records. In 1978 he switched over to Elektra Records and released 'American Dreams' which reached # 165 on the Billboard charts. This album which is making its worldwide debut features the 17 minute "American Dreams Suite."

'Nilsson By Tipton' is a very unusual album. It is an album of songs written by Harry Nilsson but preformed under the supervision of conductor George Tipton. It has been a long coveted album by Nilsson collectors for decades. Featuring the guitar work of Howard Roberts, Nilsson fans can rejoice that it is finally available on CD. This album was originally released in 1979 on Warner Brothers Records.

This southern blues-rock group from Macon, Georgia was influenced by UK bands such as Cream, John Mayall's Blues Breakers along with acts like Booker T. & the MG's. Although they had a large and loyal following and released a number of albums on various labels, they never quite rose to the level of popularity of their peers like the Allman Brothers or The Marshall Tucker Band. Their only charting album was 'Redwing' on the Atco labe, which makes its CD debut here and features the extraordinary vocals & guitar work of Dru Lombar.

Ace Frehley, best known as one of the members of the band Kiss, has issued a few solo projects, some under his name and some under the name Frehley's Comet. 'Second Sighting' reached # 81 on the Billboard charts in 1988. The EP Live + 1which reached # 84 on the Billboard charts is added as a bonus. 'Trouble Walkin'' was originally issued in 1989 as a solo Ace Frehley album and reached # 102 on the Billboard charts.

Pete Carr was one half of the duo LeBlanc & Carr. The guitar playing half. Thus he issued two guitar laden instrumental solo albums on the Big Tree label in the late 1970s. ‘Not A Word On It’ was originally issued in 1976 & features Lenny LeBlanc. 'Multiple Flash' originally came out in 1978 and features a cover version of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door." Both make their CD debut here.

Robbie Patton, an English singer/songwriter, was introduced to the music world when he toured with Fleetwood Mac a guest artist in the late '70s, eventually collaborating with members on future projects. Making its CD debut, 'Orders From Headquarters' was originally issued in 1982 & features guest appearances by Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie & Timothy Schmidt. Also making its CD debut, 'No Problem' was originally issued in 1984 on Atlantic Records & features drummer Carlos Vega.

Toronto pop-rock group Fludd made this interesting and innovative album for Warner Brothers Records in 1972, one of only two issued before they disbanded six years later. You can hear influences by The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Who, along with their own unique sounds. Member Greg Godovitz later formed the Canadian metal band Goddo.

Bassist Bernard Edwards was producer and co-writer of the band Chic, that he co-founded with Nile Rodgers. He also produced for Sister Sledge, Diana Ross and Rod Stewart and and played on albums for '80s band Power Station, Madonna and David Bowie. One of his few solo albums was 'Glad To Be Here,' originally released on Atlantic Records in 1983. Wounded Bird now proudly presents it on compact disc for the first time anywhere in the world. It features Luther Vandross, Jocelyn Brown, Fonzi Thornton and of course, Nile Rodgers.

Jazz flautist Art Webb, who has been called the pied piper of Latin Jazz issued this album on Atlantic in 1977. Musicians include Hiram Bullock, Reggie Lucas, Gerry Brow Jimmy Delgado, John Lee, Mike Mandel and Jimmy Delgado.

This '80s pop/alternative group features two members, Danny Wilde & Philip Solem, who went on to form the group The Rembrandts. Wounded Bird previously released their only 'official' album, 'Apart From The Crowd' before hearing rumors about a 2nd unreleased album. After launching an investigation, they discovered 'Extra Epic Everything' lying dormant in the vault and present it here for the first time on CD.

Boulder features Stan Bush, best known for his various AOR incarnations, many with his backing band Barrage. The Boulder album, released in 1979 was one a one shot deal for Elektra Records and makes its CD debut here.

Couchois was a rock band formed by the Couchois brothers, Chris, Pat & Mike who released a couple of fine albums on the Warner Brothers label in the late 1970s. This, their eponymous album, reached # 170 on the Billboard charts when originally released in 1979. It is making its worldwide CD debut.

This innovative rock group from the mid 1980s released one album on Elektra Records. It has been kept in the dark as far as the CD format is concerned for over twenty years now. Wounded Bird now sheds some light on the situation with the world compact disc debut of '1st Down & Ten.'

The Ladder was a rock group featuring Frank Mancano on lead vocals that issued this excellent album on Atco Records in 1986.

Glenn Miller was the leader of the most popular big band of all time. For the first time on CD, Wounded Bird presents 'Carnegie Hall Concert' which was recorded in 1939 and released on RCA LP in 1958, reaching # 19 on the Billboard charts.

One To One was a Canadian new wave duo who had a hit with the song "Angel In My Pocket." This first time CD release of the album 'Forward Your Emotions' features a bonus track of the alternate cassette version of "Angel In My Pocket." Louise Reny & Leslie Howard were the brain trust behind this innovative group.

Flamenco guitarist Sabicas has been called "The King of Flamenco." Only a handful of his albums have been converted over to CD, so Wounded Bird now proudly presents 'Festival Gitana' originally released on Elektra Records. Jan Akkerman is one of the premier guitarists in rock, starting out with the group Focus, and issuing numerous critically acclaimed solo albums. One of his most exciting releases was Profile. Taj Mahal has been a blues icon since the late '60s and he is still performing and issuing fine albums. This two-on-one CD combines the album 'Recycling The Blues,' which originally hit the Billboard charts in 1972 with the album 'Oooh So Good 'n Blues,' which hit the Billboard charts in 1973.

Looking Glass was a pop group from the early 1970s, who had a number one charting single with the song "Brandy." Their self titled 'Looking Glass' album that made the Billboard charts that same year is paired here with their second release, 'Subway Serenade' to create a great two-on-one CD.

The Statler Brothers were a country vocal group who crossed over into the pop charts with their # 4 hit "Flowers On The Wall." Wounded Bird has combined their 1966 album Flowers On The Wall album with their 1967 album The Big Hits to create an exciting 2 on 1 release.

Pop vocalist Sandy Stewart released this sole album in 1983 on Modern Records. It features guest appearances by Stevie Nicks and is available here on CD for the first time.

Jon Anderson is widely known as the lead singer for Yes. He has issued numerous solo albums over the years. Olias Of Sunhillow reached # 47 on the Billboard charts in 1976. Song Of Seven reached # 143 in 1980 & features Jack Bruce. These albums are making their U.S. CD debuts.

Jon Lord, who was one of the founding members of Deep Purple, collaborated with Tony Ashton on this album during a break from Deep Purple touring in '74. They then played the project live at the London Palladium later that year while the BBC captured another London performance. A rockin' mixture of boogie woogie, and rhythm & blues, complete with Hammond organ, the album also featured guest musicians Ron Wood, Cozy Powell, Peter Frampton, Mick Grabham & Doris Troy.

Adrian Belew is best known as one of the guitarists from King Crimson. He has also issued numerous critically acclaimed solo albums. Wounded Bird has taken one of those, 'Young Lions,' and combined it with a rare EP issued from the same era, 'Pretty Pink Rose', to create a sort of two-fer.

This is a long lost gem from 1968 by a little known, somewhat psychedelic group called Bo Grumpus. This album, originally issued on Atco Records, has never been issued on CD before and fans from this era have been asking for it.

Brave Belt was the original nucleus of Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Featuring Randy Bachman, they made two albums on Reprise Records in 1971 & 1972. Wounded Bird has now combined these two albums, "Brave Belt" & "Brave Belt II" onto a single disc. Bachman has a loyal fan base that will scarf up this CD fast!

Jocelyn Brown is probably best known for her backing vocals with the likes of John Lennon, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson & George Benson. We now present her first solo album, One From The Heart in a deluxe two CD set. Disc two contains 10 bonus tracks, the remixed versions from her 12" EPs. The album was produced by "Jellybean" Benitez. Guest artists on this album include Jellybean himself, along with Patti Austin & Marcus Miller.

John Cale is best known as a member of the Velvet Underground. Terry Riley is best known for his exploration of avant-garde music. The formed a onetime collaboration on 'Church Of Anthrax.' This has been one of the long sought after CD requests for it has never been issued on CD until now!

Irene Cara is best known for her appearance in the movie "Fame", singing the title track. She has issued only a few albums over the years. 'Carasmatic' was originally issued in 1987 on Elektra Records. It features Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, Luther Vandross, James Ingram, George Duke, Harvey Mason, Patrice Rushen, and Jim Keltner.

Ron Carter is regarded as one of the greatest jazz bass players of all time. This album, Etudes, was originally issued 1983 on the Elektra/Musician label and features Bill Evans, Tony Williams & Art Farmer.

Twin singer-songwriter duo Ernie & Earl Cate made a name for themselves in the mid '60s when they brought their blend of bluesy and soulful country-rock to venues across the South. Early contemporaries of Ronnie Hawkins and Levon Helm, they were signed to Asylum Records in 1975, recording these four albums that showcase their expert musicianship and prolific songwriting. This 1975 debut self-titled album was produced by guitarist Steve Cropper, who also appeared on the record along with Levon Helm, Donald "Duck" Dunn and Poco bass guitarist Timothy B. Schmit, who later joined the Eagles. The album reached the Billboard charts. Also produced by Steve Cropper, their second album on Asylum from 1976, In One Eye & Out the Other, features 10 songs including "Start All Over Again," "Travelin' Man" and "Music Making Machine." Their third Asylum album from 1977, The Cate Brothers Band, includes the tracks "Stanger At The Door", "Let It Slide" and "Give Me A Reason." The brothers' fourth and final album from 1979 'Fire on the Tracks' reached number 24 on the album rock charts and featured their hit single "Union Man," its popularity spurred by a previous performance on the Austin City Limits TV show.

Chase was a jazz-rock horn band masterminded by trumpet player extraordinaire Bill Chase. The only issued three albums, all of which made the Billboard charts when originally issued in the early 1970s. Tragically this all came to an end when most of the band, including Bill, was killed in a plane crash in 1974. Their music lives on with these three excellent albums, gathered together here as three albums on two CDs.

Pacific Gas & Electric was a blues/rock group out of California who had a number of charting albums in the late 1960's-early 1970's. The group was headed up by vocalist Charlie Allen. Originally hitting the charts in 1971, "PG&E" is making its worldwide CD debut.

In 1973 & 1974, Three Man Army issued two swingin' albums on the Warner Brothers label. Formed by Paul & Adrian Gurvitz, along with Tony Newman, this band has a cult following. These hard to find collector's albums now make great CDs.

Isao Tomita is a classical keyboardist, who overwhelmed the electronic music field in the 1970s with a bunch of albums to make the Billboard charts. These albums are electronic interpretations of well known works of popular classical composers. The only one of his albums to not be issued on CD in the US is Ravel's Bolero. We now proudly present that album on CD! This album made the Billboard charts in February of 1980.

Legendary electronic composer Edgar Varese has a cult following and had a profound impact on a young Frank Zappa. Recordings of his works are far and few between. Conductor Robert Craft recorded two albums of his works for Columbia Records in the 1960's. Those two albums were then issued in a two record set called "The Varese Album". We now present this two record set as a two CD set. This is the worldwide CD debut for this album.

Miroslav Vitous is best know as one of the foremost young bassists in the jazz-rock movement of the late 60's and early 70's. He was a founding member of Weather Report and made numerous solo albums. This album, Magical Shepherd, is making its worldwide CD debut. It features such jazz luminaries as Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJohnette & Airto Moreira. It was originally issued on LP in 1976 on WB.

Wildlife was part of Led Zeppelin's Swan Song roster. They only issued one album, the self titled "Wildlife" in 1983. It was produced by Mick Ralphs of Bad Company fame. Fans have been screaming for this album for years! It is now making its worldwide CD debut!

Zager & Evans had a # 1 hit with "In The Year 2525" in 1969. The album containing that hit, '2525 (Exordium & Terminus)', reached # 120 on the Billboard charts that same year. Wounded Bird has combined that album with their second eponymous album, 'Zager & Evans'
