Independent Recordings and Materiali Sonori present Mexico Woke Up, the new studio album by Nine Rain, the group founded in Mexico City in 1994 and whose membership now includes Steven Brown (founding member of the legendary art-rock group Tuxedomoon), Nikolas Klau, Alejandro Herrera, Jose Luís Domínguez, Daniel Aspuru and Oxama, all musicians with ample trajectories. Independent Recordings presents the CD, Flower Songs, the first concert in Mexico by Tuxedomoon founders, Blaine Reininger and Steven Brown, recorded live in the Sala Nezahualcòyotl in Mexico City. Reininger and Brown are known for their unique style that navigates around contemporary, rock jazz and experimental. This trademark sound of Tuxedomoon can be heard in the classic albums "Half Mute", "Desire", "Holy Wars", and the recent "Cabin in the Sky"; as well as in their releases as a duo, "One Hundred Years of Music" and "Croation Variations". As solo artists both musicians have recorded more than thirty disks. Flower Songs was recorded in one of the most prestigious concert halls in Latin America, la Sala Nezahualcoyotl, located on the campus of Mexico's National University. Normally hosting only classical symphonic concerts, special permission was granted for this performance by Reininger and Brown. The fourteen compositions included here are the fruits of over a decade of the two musicians work together. Seven of these appear for the first time on disc.

"Incidental Seductions" is Howard's most personal, elaborate and hard-fought album to date, and the songs are supported by the substantial talents of some of the most creative and vibrant artists within the pantheon of modern music: Vernon Reid, ex-Living Colour frontman on guitar, King Crimson Warr-guitarist Trey Gunn, and faithful Charles Hayward on drums. Two other significant players on the recording are Steve Sullivan on ambient guitar and John Ettinger on violin, both key figures in Howard's ongoing project Nûs. Also included are collaborations with Eraldo Bernocchi and the voice of Seattle based poet and spoken word artist Kali LaVey, and the fundamental presence of Bill Laswell. Laswell in fact has worked with Howard several times in the past, producing Nûs' albums "Inside is the Only Way Out " and "All the Vertical Angel"s", and inviting Howard as guest artist (spoken voice) in his recent release Hashisheen. This work is decidedly devoid of much of the elements of rock or current manifestations of avant-garde performance, which might be the expectation considering his preceding album, but instead embrace the warmth and lyricism of traditional song-form wedded to the bittersweet textures of dark ambiance and the contrapuntal and harmonic possibilities of jazz. "Incidental Seductions" is intended to be a soundpainting, a reverie that is intent upon illuminating the following of a muse, and that motivator is eros, and philios.

Classical pianist and composer, Arturo Stàlteri has been at the forefront in the field of quality music for years, from his experience with Pierrot Lunaire, one of the historical names of Italian progressive rock in the nineteen seventies, who had an ability to combine rock and classicism, to his interpretations of works by Philip Glass and Brian Eno. Syriarise is the re-release of the 1991 Cd. As is usual it has a new sleeve and the tracks appear in a different order from the first version. It is divided conceptually into three sections: "Unit Moon" (including the acoustic and piano pieces) the suite "Syriarise" (with the previously unreleased Viking 2) and three previously unreleased tracks in the section "Route To Earth". The Cd is a work in which several roads meet. The first part is dedicated to the piano and loosely inspired by twentieth century French piano music (with a delicate tribute to Erik Satie) and a certain romanticism (re-interpreted in a contemporary key). This is followed by the electronic suite, Syriarise, which has a great capacity to communicate and where minimalist and ambient tones emerge. The work was supported by Orio Odori (clarinet) and Damiano Puliti (cello) of Harmonia Ensemble.
