Ork - A truly Classic Rock album that has stood the test of time. With a blend of classic blues based rock music fused with soul, funk and occasional heavier elements it marks the crowning glory of Trapeze. Recorded in 1970 just as the band changed from being a five piece to becoming a power trio, with Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley and Dave Holland. With hindsight you could say rather like one of their influences Cream, Trapeze were something of a budding super group with Hughes later joining Deep Purple, Galley joining Whitesnake and Holland joining Judas Priest. Rev-Ola - One time Kim Fowley protege, one time Spencer Davis guitar tech, Dave Mason was a key and founder member of psych/pop/funk/soul/fusion legends Traffic. The writer of many of the band's early classics including the timeless and much-covered 'Feelin' Alright?,' Mason was the first to leave due to the classic 'musical differences.' Moving to the US, his first solo album was one of the many recordings to come out of the Leon Russell/Delaney & Bonnie axis in 1969/1970. 'Alone Together' contains excellent, tightly constructed pop songs, redolent of his singles for Traffic, albeit extended in the then new style, built on a fat bed of acoustic guitars with tasteful electric guitar accents. RPM - Retro - Dave Cousins and Tony Hooper of the Strawbs were invited in 1969 to produce an LP for Shrewsbury band Paper Bubble. Terry Brake, Brian Crane (both vcls, gtrs) and Neil Mitchell (bs) provide most of the sounds, except for a guesting Rick Wakeman, who was helping Cousins and Hooper on sessions just prior to joining the Strawbs proper in 1970. Brake and Crane's harmony vocals underpin the atmosphere of the record, and it is an infectious folk pop mix with the Strawbs influence starting to come through. The album was released in 1970 on Deram and gains its first legitimate CD reissue on RPM in 2008.

Dusty Groove - First time on CD for one of the rarest albums ever from funky maestro David Axelrod – the producer known for his work with The Electric Prunes on Reprise, and a string of late '60s classics on Capitol Records! This mid '70s set for Polydor has Axelrod working in a jazz funk mode – much more electric than before, with heavy keyboards from Crusader Joe Sample, thundering drums from Ndugu Chancler, reeds from Jerome Richardson and Ernie Watts, vibes from Gary Coleman, and a nice undercurrent of strings as well. There's a subtle dose of fusion in the mix, but one that's never too jamming – and Axelrod always maintains his trademark sense of space and timing – turning the simplest musical measure into the kind of groove that holds up well into the 21st Century. The best-known song here is Junkie John, which was starting to get big-time airplay until the FCC cracked down on airplay for drug-themed songs, which was a clash between the "straight" and "bizarre" worlds that executive producer Zappa no doubt relished. Ork - From the ashes of Apple Music Publishing band The U came Bachdenkel, who in 1969 relocated from Birmingham to France. During their time in France a number of recording sessions were undertaken, an early single resulted (Through The Eyes Of A Child), and eventually an LPs worth of material collected. The song Translation was written following an association with choreographer Graziella Martinez (who had previously worked with The Soft Machine) working on a ballet of the same title. Already experimenting with mixing their influences from Beatles psych era, Joni Mitchell style songs, Eastern and Hippie philosophies, Bachdenkel were further tempted by visiting musicians to Paris such as avant garde jazz artists The Art Ensemble of Chicago and Anthony Braxton. The result is magnificent, great songs with beautiful and unusual lyrics, epic music , warm vocals, and truly captivating listening experience.

He licensed most of these records out to the super-cool Island label where they joined the likes of Traffic, John Martyn and The Amazing Blondel and unwittingly formed the backbone of the now hugely revered and collectable British folk-rock movement of the late '60s and '70s. el - The artistic partnership between film director Federico Fellini and composer Nino Rota was one of the most productive and enduring in cinema history. "La Strada" and "Nights of Cabiria" announced their arrival on the scene to an awestruck Italian and international public. Both movies won academy awards for "the best foreign language film"; establishing the style that would soon reach full expression with the renowned "La Dolce Vita". These are the original mono soundtracks recorded in 1952 and 1956 respectively: the same recordings that are used on the films and both are long out of print in any format.

"That's got to be older than me!" ...and "When was the last time you plugged that in?" Over a cup of tea during a break in the loading Erik said "You know it would be great to make an album just using vintage keyboards. Acadia - Gary Wright was the driving force behind the legendary Spooky Tooth back in the late '60s and early '70s. He wrote the majority of the material for the band and after he left in the early '70s he went back to the USA. Gary Wright then carved out a very successful solo career with the best selling album "Dreamweaver". "First Signs Of Life" was originally released in 1995 and illustrated his fascination of what we now call World Music. Guests include Terry Bozzio (Zappa) and the late great George Harrison. Collectors' Choice - Though Tommy Bolin had left Zephyr by the time this, their second and final release for Warner Bros., was recorded, a lot of fans consider this their best album, the high point in the short career of vocalist Candy Givens and the beneficiary of some hot guitar work from Bolin replacement and future Firefall member Jack Bartley. One thing's for sure, though - this 1972 release definitely takes a jazzy turn away from Bolin's trademark heavy blues-rock riffing, with some smoking violin work from Neil Young/Rockets session man Bobby Nokoff playing nicely off of Bartley's fretwork.
