In 1991 Pär Lindh and friends started The Swedish Art Rock Society at the dawn of the renaissance for Swedish progressive rock. At the first Festival arranged by the society in autumn 1991 (where Pär gave a speech as well as a spectacular performance) all the three major progressive bands from Sweden showed up (Anekdoten, Änglagård and Landberk) some of them came to perform others just to attend the event. This Art-rock festival became somewhat of a starting point for a new wave of exciting music emerging from this little Scandinavian country.

The band Par Lindh Project was formed in the spring 1995 as a result of the cooperation between Jocke Ramsell, Nisse Bielfeld, Magdalena Hagberg and Pär Lindh during the 1994 sessions to record Gothic Impressions and the CD PFR by RFP = Ramsell for President. The band had been rehearsing and recording during autumn 1995. Besides recording the CD Rondo, which was their first effort to record as a band, Magdalena has been doing a wonderful job in recording the vocals for the Tolkien inspired CD BILBO. PLP´s first ever performance was at the Gothenburg Art-Rock Festival on the 4:th of May, 1996.

Par Lindh & Bjorn Johansson/Dreamsongs from Middle Earth ....import CD $14.99

DREAMSONGS FROM MIDDLE EARTH - At last the long awaited follow up to the classic album, BILBO. Bjorn Johansson & Par Lindh make another journey deep into Tolkiens Middle Earth. A lifetime's worth of compositions goes into this rich and complex album.  One long suite makes up the entire album divided into ten parts called Dream one to Dream ten.   Length of the album is around 65 minutes.  A CD for all progressive rock and Tolkien lovers!  "Instead of using synthesizers to create the sounds of instruments they couldn´t play themselves, Lindh and Johansson hired a number of guest musicians. This gives the music on the album a particularly true feel, having real choirs, a real horn section, a real harpist, real trumpets and trombones. One guest musician is quite unexpectedly Roine Stolt, the Flower Kings frontman, as a bass player on one track.   The music on the album is so incredibly varied that it is almost impossible to review all songs individually. There is rock with heavy drums and guitar, there is folk with flutes and mandolins, there is baroque with horns and harpsichord, there are Asian influences with sitar and timpani etc. etc. Track eight is Genesis influenced with marching drums and staccatto organ chords while Par plays an organ solo that would make Tony Banks proud." ~ Bart Jan van der Vorst

Yeti Rain is an experimental duo consisting of William Kopecky and Roger Ebner. Nest of Storms, the band's second CD (but their first on the Crimsonic label), is a set of spontaneously composed music that is intense and visionary. The haunting sounds conjured up by Kopecky's basses and Ebner's sax and wind synth are by turns meditative and violent, the perfect soundtrack for a disturbing dream.   William Kopecky is known internationally for his progressive and experimental bass playing. His extensive discography includes CD's by Par Lindh Project, Kopecky, Far Corner, Michael Angelo Batio, Parallel Mind, Snarling Adjective Convention, and many others. On Nest of Storms, Kopecky plays both fretted and fretless electric basses.  Roger Ebner is an adventurous musician who has forged a unique sound on his wind synthesizer and saxophone. His daring and expressive performances as a member of both Yeti Rain and the sinister avant-garde funk/rock ensemble Snarling Adjective Convention have earned him critical acclaim around the world.

The Flyin' Ryan Brothers/Blue Marble

For over 30 years, Jimmy and Johnny Ryan have honed their guitar chops, songwriting style, arranging skills and production expertise to a razor's edge. BLUE MARBLE is their best sounding and most creative project to date, and there are more soaring harmony leads and virtuosic twin guitar interplay than ever before. While maintaining that "classic" Flyin' Ryan Brothers stylistic diversity and sound, several different exotic instruments and ethnic percussion were incorporated into the mix to entice the ears and stir the soul. The result is a sound that is distinctly more mature and progressive, yet deeply rooted in classic hard rock with an unmistakable retro vibe.  Returning on BLUE MARBLE are the incredible talents of bassist-extraordinaire Bill Kopecky and monster drummers Johnny Mrozek and Bob Behnke. Johnny and Bob once again put their thunderous and groovacious drum styles to work, laying the rhythmic foundation with taste, power and chops to spare. Johnny also played all of the additional percussion, and his sense of rhythm, timing and interpretive skills are nothing less than spectacular. And what can be said about two-time WAMI "Bassist of the Year" Bill Kopecky? His musicality and virtuosity are featured prominently on every track, and his artistic contributions have had a profound impact on the project. If that isn't enough, he also plays sitar and tanpura! Check out "Baghdad" and "Gaza" for a taste of his jaw-dropping talent on these exotic instruments.  BLUE MARBLE is universal in its appeal and transcendent in its impact. It is an incredible musical journey that will take you to many different places - real and mythical - on our spaceship Earth.

Truth Squad/Superkiller ....CD $13.99

Truth Squad/Superkiller

"Truth Squad is a rippin' power trio that consists of the great Jimmy Ryan (of Flyin' Ryan Brothers fame) on guitar and vocals and monster drummer John Mrozek (John and I were the rhythm section for the Michael Angelo Band, and we both played on Legacy, the latest release from the Flyin' Ryan Bros). In addition to playing fretted and fretless basses on the Superkiller disc, I also played keyboards and sitar. The material is half-instrumental, half-vocal, and the songs are an earthy, blistering blues-based rock with tinges of prog, pop, and fusion. The tunes remind me of a mix of Jeff Beck, Pink Floyd, Rush, and Wishbone Ash, but with modern tones and production." - Bill Kopecky

'Sunset Gun' is a huge step forward for the band. These seven instrumental pieces offer more complex and tight arrangements, less riffs and more keyboards for atmospheres, incredible fretless bass parts, subtle guitar melodic lines, and original drumming. Here is a real compositional complexity with a wide range of influences -  Indian music, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Yes, ambient, metal, ethnic, progressive, neo-psych music - all part of the palette for a really successful musical experience!
