FAR EAST FAMILY BAND - NIPPONJIN $25.98
CD version previously-released on Phoenix Records, now available in a vinyl version. Regarded by many as the first Japanese progressive rock group, the Far East Family Band featured the keyboardist and future new age composer, Kitaro. A keyboard-dominated space rock band, the Far East Family Band played extended compositions that brought comparisons to Tangerine Dream and early Pink Floyd. Nipponjin (1975), the band's second album under their new name (after their Far Out moniker), featured re-recorded material from the previous The Cave Down To Earth (1974) as well as Nihonjin and was produced by Tangerine Dream's Klaus Schultz. One of Japan's earliest prog bands, Far East Family Band became hugely popular in Japan and also achieved considerable attention in Europe. Love Lost was recorded in 1971, during a brief, little known period during which Love was signed to Columbia Records. Many of the songs included on Love Lost would resurface, often in radically different forms, on subsequent Love releases, and on Lee's fabled solo album Vindicator. MOEBIUS - TONSPUREN $20.98
This is the first solo album by Dieter Moebius, recorded at Conny Plank's studio and originally released in 1983 on Sky Records. By 1969 at the latest, Dieter Moebius was synonymous with the avant-garde electronic music scene in Germany. He and Hans- Joachim Roedelius formed Cluster, a seminal electronic/ambient duo, while Moebius was also a member of the so-called Krautrock supergroup Harmonia (with Michael Rother and Roedelius), as well as collaborating on various other projects with the likes of Brian Eno and Mani Neumeier from Guru Guru. Somehow, it took Moebius until 1983 to release his own solo debut album. The former Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist and his wife, vocalist Candice Night, created a Renaissance-inspired work with elements of folk, new age, and occasional bits of electric guitar. Blackmore even plays bass, mandolin, drum (yes, singular), and tambourine. Night's voice isn't powerful, but it's bright and sweet, making it perfect for this style of music. FAME GEORGIE - MOD CLASSICS: 1964-66 $15.98
This is the first compilation of Georgie Fame’s Columbia recordings since 1979’s “Beat Classics” and is designed to complement that seminal work. While that went for the hits and the singles, “Mod Classics” goes for the dance floor appeal of 24 tracks that mix jazz, rhythm and blues and soul. Many of the tracks on our CD have only been available in Japan since their original releases were deleted in the late 60s. Georgie and his group, the Blue Flames, were the hippest outfit in mid-‘60s London. Their residency at Soho’s Flamingo Club was a fixture for mods and American GIs, who danced all night to the sounds of black America and Georgie’s interpretations of it.

Beware, cult record! Gong is a progressive space-rock band formed at the end of the '60s by Daevid Allen, in those days leader of Soft Machine. Recorded in the Pavillon de Paris in 1977, this live album is the ultimate testimony of the ''historic'' Gong. All the band's ''classics'' were played that night, during a ''reunion'' show that lasted several hours. Released originally by a small label in 1977, this release is almost a collector's item -- Virgin, the official record company of the band having made every effort to forbid it; in vain.

The performances featured on this DVD were filmed at the studios of KQED TV in April 1967, just weeks before Big Brother & The Holding Company shot to international fame following their blinding set at the Monterey Pop Festival in June 1967 (which featured Joplin's show-stopping performance of 'Ball And Chain', a highlight also of D.A. Pennebaker's famous movie documenting the festival). For many fans this was the period when Janis Joplin was at her best, before the pressure of fame and the ravages of drugs took over. This is the first DVD to release these KQED TV tracks. The songs are interspersed with short interviews with Janis and other band members, all in excellent sound and picture quality for the era. In addition to 'Ball And Chain', which was to appear on the group's second album in the following year, the set features two of the group's hit singles, 'Down On Me' and 'Coo Coo'.
