Camel is a perfect example of what can happen when a group decides to free themselves from the shackles of the corporate world and go independent. Their first album under Camel Productions, Dust and Dreams, was a return to form that the corporate world wouldn't allow, but which the fans absolutely clamored for. The next studio album, Harbour of Tears, was one many fans rank among their best.
This new freedom also allowed Camel to examine their archives and release their own series of 'official bootlegs,' another item the fans crave. This uplifting trend can only continue as long as Camel Productions gets your support. Two incredible Camel performances from the vaults! Camel Live in Concert at the Hammersmith Odeon, April 14, 1976: The long-lost recording was finally recovered in 2006, and Camel are now able to bring this very rare and quite wonderful bit of footage to commercial release. With the original lineup of Andrew Latimer, Doug Ferguson, Andy Ward and the late Peter Bardens, this recording was made during the promotion of Camel's 1976 album 'Moonmadness.' Performances include White Rider, Lunar Sea, Preparation, Dunkirk, Another Night, and Lady Fantasy. Also Camel Live in Concert at the Hippodrome, September 22, 1977: Featuring Latimer, Bardens, and Ward, with Richard Sinclair and Mel Collins. Recording this special performance in the afternoon before their evening performance at London's Hammersmith Odeon, this release was made possible by the courtesy of the BBC who have preserved countless such recordings from the past, never knowing how important they would one day become. Songs performed include First Light, Metrognome, Unevensong, Rhayader, Rhayader Goes To Town, Skylines, Highways Of The Sun, Lunar Sea, Rain Dances, Never Let Go, One Of These Days I'll Get An Early Night. And if all this wasn't exciting enough, this DVD also includes two never-before-released audio recordings: "Autumn" (1974) & "Riverman" (1975)!

The complete 2 hour performance that was lensed at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1984! The footage include 5 songs that the band thought had been erased by their record company, but had merely been misplaced in the archives. Onstage personnel included Andrew Latimer (guitars, flutes, vocals), Colin Bass (bass, vocals), Paul Burgess, Ton Scherpenzeel & Richie Close (keyboards) and Chris Rainbow (vocals). The show also features guest appearances by Mel Collins (sax) and former band member, the late Peter Bardens (keyboards). The disc also features an interview with Andrew Latimer for Mirror Image that was recorded at the time of the performance and broadcast on British television.

Cóbh Harbour is a beautiful deep-water port in County Cork, Ireland. It was the last sight of Ireland for hundreds upon thousands of fractured families who departed her shores for fates unknown. They called it the Harbour of Tears.

Guy LeBlanc, Colin Bass and Denis Clement joined Andrew Latimer at Little Barn studios for Camel's newest recording and a celebration of Camel's 30th anniversary, A Nod and a Wink. Spirits were exceptionally high within the band despite 12-hour days in the studio. An album blending a bit of fun and nostalgia with a nod to Camel's roots and a wink at the whimsical, "A Nod and a Wink" comprises 7 tracks and approximately 55 minutes of music, and is HDCD encoded. A Nod and a Wink is dedicated to one of Camel's founding members, Pete Bardens.

This album was taken from one of the earliest tours with the original line-up of Andrew Latimer, Pete Bardens, Andy Ward and Doug Ferguson. Although the essence of Camel changed when Doug left and we all grew apart musically, our friendships remain strong to this day. I chose this tape because it has the feel that inspired us to work together, despite it being nearly 20 years old and not the best quality. A long and winding road for this tour in particular. But when Camel arrived in Paris, the city of light, on 30th September 2000 it turned out to be the musician's most fun-filled performance. Their enjoyment is obvious throughout, perhaps because keyboardist Guy LeBlanc and drummer Denis Clement are French-Canadian ... perhaps because there was 'something in the air'. Certainly, there was good music in the air. Listening to it is just as much fun. Accompanying Andrew Latimer are Dave Stewart (drums) and Colin Bass (bass guitar). Also, the wonders of technology have brought about a reunion never thought possible due to the distance twixt the two musicians... keyboardist Ton Scherpenzeel from Kayak has returned to Camel making a guest appearance on several tracks! Many fans will remember Ton from his previous appearances with Camel both on "Stationary Traveller" and on the 1984 video "Pressure Points." A home-loving man, Ton is not comfortable away from his family and is less comfortable with air travel. Until now, these things made it impossible for Ton to appear on Camel albums. Technology has ended this isolation. Andrew sent the relevant tracks to Ton on CD-ROM and Ton was able to record his keyboard parts in his own studio in Holland. The two musicians were thrilled to be able to exchange ideas via their computers, downloading musical input within minutes. So energized by this opportunity, the two plan future projects together.
